About Ortho

Ortho is an independent project based in South Korea. In these terms, “we” means the operator of Ortho. Contact us at hey@ortho.so.

Eligibility and acceptance

The beta accepts requests worldwide from people aged 16 or over. If your local law requires a parent or guardian’s permission, you must obtain it before participating.

Requesting an invitation does not accept the app license or guarantee access. You must accept these terms when beta access is provided, before using the app.

The beta

Ortho is free, pre-release software offered through a private, invite-only beta for evaluation. Features and availability may change. Ortho runs on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

The private beta is free. Pricing after beta has not been announced. Joining the beta does not commit you to a paid subscription.

Your license

Once you accept these terms, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Ortho on your own compatible Macs during the beta. Do not resell, redistribute, or present Ortho as your own. Do not reverse-engineer it except where applicable law permits. Rights in Ortho remain with its owner.

Feedback and acceptable use

Feedback is voluntary. We may use feedback about Ortho to improve the product without compensation; you retain ownership of your original material. Use Ortho lawfully and do not interfere with its operation or violate others’ rights.

Health information

Ortho is a wellness and informational aid, not a medical device. Its posture signals are estimates, not medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a condition. Consult a qualified professional for health concerns.

Privacy

Posture analysis works offline on your Mac, and posture data is not uploaded. The Privacy Policy explains local app storage separately from website signup, email communications, support, and analytics.

Beta limitations and your rights

The beta is provided “as is.” It may contain bugs, be interrupted, lose local data, or be discontinued. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Changes and ending participation

You may stop using the beta at any time. We may change or end the beta, or suspend access for misuse or security reasons. We will give advance notice of a planned end where possible; urgent security or legal issues may require immediate action.

We will notify participants of material terms changes before they take effect and state the effective date. Changes do not apply retroactively. Where renewed agreement is required, we will request it; silence does not constitute acceptance. You may decline by ending participation.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. This does not deprive you of mandatory protections available under the laws that apply where you live. These terms do not require exclusive courts or arbitration.
